Does this make sense if I'm renting?
Yes. Many aspects of a healthier home are within your control even when you don't own the property.
We'll separate the changes you can make yourself from issues you may want to discuss with your landlord or property manager.
How much of my time will this take?
The visit itself takes around 4 hours. You don't need to be with us the whole time: we mainly need access to the rooms and a few minutes to hear how you use the space.
After the visit, the rest happens on our side: lab analysis of the samples, interpreting the results and putting your report together. That's all included.
You'll receive everything, lab results and recommendations included, within about 2 weeks.
Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?
Usually, very little. We'll send you simple instructions beforehand if there's anything we'd like you to avoid changing before the home assessment, or anything specific we need access to.
Otherwise, we'd actually rather see your home as you normally live in it.
What will I receive afterwards?
Within about 2 weeks of the visit, once the lab results are in, you'll receive a personalised overview of what we found, what it means and, most importantly, what we recommend doing about it.
Rather than giving you a long list of measurements, we prioritise the findings so you can quickly understand what looks good, what could be improved, what matters most, and what happens next.
Will I need to renovate, or leave with a huge list of changes?
No, that's exactly what we want to avoid. In the vast majority of cases there's no renovation: no builders, no dust. Most improvements are swaps, settings and habits.
We prioritise recommendations by impact and effort, take care of the simple fixes where we can, and clearly separate what's important from what's simply nice to improve. Occasionally something needs a professional, such as an electrical fault or serious mould, and then we'll explain why and help you find the right specialist.
You decide how far you want to go.
Who sees my results?
Only you. Your report is private and we never share it without your permission.
If you're a host, you can choose to show your results to guests, for example on your listing with the Holme certificate. In the future we may also offer an optional directory of healthy homes for hosts who want to be found. It will always be your choice, never automatic.
